Women in Botswana

Life for women in Africa is very difficult. Things vary from tribe to tribe and from town to town but most of them have a core of a struggled life full of hardships that nobody would ever want to endure. In the following paragraphs I will explain some about the women in Africa in general.
Lots of women in African towns have no rights. Men are superior to them. They think they are lower then men due to their culture and what they been told through the generations. Many say that they are inferior compared to men. Also sometimes to raise their social status they will provoke men and wear certain clothing and prostitute.
The women's job in their tribes varied but in most cases they did the normal things you would expect. They maintain the house and fetch wood and water. Also they worked in fields unlike men. Men usually did cattle herding. Women had skill in basket weaving and craft making.
Many women try to get ahead but its so hard because of the way society most males perceive women. They don't have much opportunities for employment because nobody wants to employ a women for a normal job. Many things hinder them such as human resources and access to financial resources. Also they don't have the much or even any access to innovative or appropriate technologies.
In conclusion life in Africa is pretty confusing for women. I think its a hard dangerous way of life. With the spread of AIDS its deadly. But when you are given a situation like that, the best you can do is make it through life with a smile on your face no matter how hard it is.
